Just one person and so much dish washing.

Years ago, in fact decades ago, my husband bought a dishwasher after my back surgery. I did not mind cooking but standing half bent in front of the sink was painfull and disgusting. I have never liked to wash pots (dishes I accept) or make beds.
After decades, the dishwasher had a minor problem. But the technician told me that the machine was too old and that there weren´t any parts. It wasn´t even an electric problem. It was just 2 rubber bands that leaked.
First Claudia gave me her diswasher. After I installed it I knew why she had given it to me. The machine did not wash. And the dishes come out with a horrible smell no matter what detergent I used. Finally the thing gave up and started to say ERROR when I turned it on.
By then, Tania decided to give me her dishwasher. She was moving to her Tiny House on the Prairie and there was no place for it there.
I asked Marco to install it. It took him a whole day to clean off dry detergent from every possible part. Then, after it was installed in my kitchen. I ran it 10 or more times with no dishes and vinegar. But the rest of the detergent was ther for keeps.
I tried to wash dishes like that but they did not come out clean. So I was back to my hands. I´m glad that now I don´t give parties with 30 or more people. I invite Dixie and she washes the dishes while Humberto and I eat all the leftovers, drink good just brewed coffee and talk.
Next week Rosa will come to my house. She could not come this week. If her husband comes, I´ll ask him to check both my ancient dishwasher and this "new" one. If the broken parts fit, I´ll ask him to fix it for me. I gave him Claudia´s dishwasher but I kept my old one just in case someone would be able to fix it.
I will also ask him to write down the model. Maybe I can get the part online.
I think that yesterday I read one of your posts about how much better all gadgets were. It is true.

We have a big problem with the iron we make because China is selling less quality iron at much lower prices, even lower than the cost of producing. The US is not buying chinese iron to protect theirs, but we have different problems as we are a small country.

@marguicha Some of the things we buy that are made in China are very low quality too.

I don't like it when people give me stuff that they know doesn't work. Why would a person do that? Think it would work better for you than it did for them.

If he doesn´t, I´ll just use the space for my recycled jars.

I never use too many dishes, Usually, whatever I use I stack in the sink and spritz a bit of dishwashing liquid on them to get bubbles and let them soak, Then the following morning I wash them,

I don´t mind the dishes. It is the pots that bother me.

I am retired and a widow as you well know. I own a home and I eat well but that´s about it. No money to repair things.

I don´t have the money. I am hoping that some kind soul will repair it for next to nothing.

Why would someone give you something that doesn't work? What a waste of time and water.
