When we had a total eclipse here in August 1999, all birds immediately stopped chirping when it became all dark. The cats and dogs did not seem to care.

@LadyDuck I've heard of sheep and cows getting very agitated before an earthquake as if they could sense something was going to happen.

It's a pretty good photo and you can really see that it was dark. Only birds seem to matter, they stop singing

I was mowing our yard when the eclipse happened. I'll attach a picture a friend took of it. I didn't have my phone on me to get one. We didn't have a full eclipse here because we weren't in the direct path of it. It looks like the one we had 4-5 years ago. I am hoping to get to the church in the morning to mow there before the rain sets in for the rest of the week.

@wolfgirl569 Hmm... we are not sure if it affects them in any way. I remember witnessing a earthquake when I was in school. It was vacation time and I was at my grandparents house. The earthquake came around 3 in the morning. Somehow, all the pets started making lots of noises and showing restlessness just a little before the earthquake. My grandparents had cows, dogs, rabbits, goats and parrots as pets.

cool picture. We had 80%, but we also had cloud cover. My mother made me a cereal box cover and after I figured out how to use it, it was really cool. One of the cats was interested. She was on the cat tree looking outside while it was happening.
