I went for a walk this morning to get yesterday's mail, but before I headed for the mail I went to feed the neighbor's cat and fish. To my surprise, he was in the living room when I came in!
I fed him and the fish, and when I went to leave he headed for the front door. I was like, "Yeah, I don't think so kitty." (His mom warned me about his trying to escape) and pushed him aside with my foot and went out.
As I was typing this, I got a text message from his mom (thankfully I have a working phone, now) saying they were coming home today.
So, that's one less thing to remember.

I remember leaving my dog with a guy from my church. He called my dad, who was also out of town, panicked because he thought my dog got out, and he couldn’t find it. My dad told him to calm down, she probably hid, and would come out when she was hungry. And, she did. But that poor guy! My dad said he had never heard that level of urgency in his voice before.
I am very glad you knew not to let that kitty escape! I’d definitely trust you with my dog.

He's met me several times before. His "mom" said in a text that he was probably hiding because he was mad they left him.
