I'm not going to the hospital...

in Houston.
Oh, maybe I'd've gone if I were home, but I won't in Houston. Several reasons, but mostly because except for a few friends, who are almost my age, I don't know anyone in Houston!
Let me just say the issue the doctor wanted me to go to the ER was my blood pressure. I had taken it just a few minutes before calling. It was 201/93. It has been higher, but not by a lot.
The worst was right after I drove to Kerrville, then it was 226/92, but before I left - and just after I got up - it was 123/114. My worst pulse rate has been 84 and the BP was 195/90. However, I had just driven to Houston and there was a big storm on the way, so I was a bit stressed.
However! My first BP this morning was 179/85 about 7 a.m. and my best one since I started taking it regularly was this morning about 10:30 and it was 126/70 my pulse was 58.
Honestly, this stuff is more than just annoying, I don't know how to fix it but I'm going to watch it as I have an appointment with my GP on Wednesday.

maybe new pills for your bp will help you. i am surprised you didn't have to go to hospital, that you endured it. when i wasn't feeling good one time and my bp was high too, 186, i think, they gave me a relaxing pill and they monitored me, only that.

@ElicBxn i understand. yes,i know your was higher.i wouldn't go too but i felt my heart was killing me or chest, i literally cried due to that pain and then they said i had a panic attack. not sure was that objective or was that only written when i said i took antidepressants. i hate hospitals after that

I think ut is a good idea to see the doctor who knows you. I´mm sure that he can give you some meds to keep your BP lower.

So you're take any blood pressure meds? My husband has for many years now. Before he was his BP was all over the place but now it's much better unless he's overly stressed about anything.
Is that the health issue you were referring to?

@MarshaMusselman well, the problem is finding any one without corn in it. And it isn't stress, it is pain. I have fibromyalgia so I do have a lot of pain. I take medicine for it, but honestly it just brings it down to a manageable level.

@ElicBxn if it mainly goes up when you're really stressed about something then you should find a way to not allow yourself to be that stressed.
One reason your Dr might not want to give you meds is that it might be possible it would bring it down too low when your not stressed. I wonder if he would allow you to take them when you know you'll be in a stressful situation and the rest of the time not take them?
I'm not sure but I think if it gets too low you could die and your don't want that either.

I hope you are OK. I understand not wanting to go to a strange doctor, it's hard enough now to just go to the doctor at all.

@MarieCoyle wouldn't you know, my BP was really good today. 133/78 at 9:40 am and 138/78 at 2:08 pm. Saw the pain clinic - not the doctor - to get the second BP. Go figure...
