About a million years ago, there was a Blogger that I followed that.Did a post every friday whether she cleaned out her fridge and shared what her family have wasted her what she had to throw away because it ain't gone bad. I started doing it as a reminder of reminder of being more accountable of what we were really using and what we were wasting and I shared it on whatewe're riding site. We were all on in those days. It was either here or persona paper. Anyway, tonight. When I was making dinner I cleaned what little leftovers we had from the week out of the fridge but i'm all in a gallon sized tupperware container for the dog and thought that I would bring those posts back. So here goes. There is not a whole lot of leftovers this week. Not that Rebel will be picky. She has always loved fridge cleaning out day. There are a couple bites of my leftovers from Panda Express from a few days ago. Some chow mein and veggies and some of the harder pieces of chicken from my main dish. Same with Chris' leftovers. Some hard bits from his orange chicken and several spoonfuls of his fried rice. There was almost a whole small container of rice dressing from our lunch date the other day before the storm hit. Shout out to a freelance client for tipping me extra on an article i wrote so we could afford that meal. There was half a can of cream of chicken soup from ramen I made for lunch yesterday I think. It's not pictures but I also put the rest of the baked beans and mashed potatoes from tonight with this as well as about two spoonfuls of steak ums. So all in all not a terrible waste week. Rebel will be thrilled when she gets to eat it , and it's not really going to waste if the dog gets to enjoy it right? I think I am going to try to bring these posts back. So stay tuned for next week's installment, hopefully I'll remember to do it on Friday.

Extra tips from your freelancing client...that must have felt so good . I am a bit frugal. And from my upbringing, I have got a mindset that food wastage is a crime.. I will hardly waste anything. I keep checking my pantry and fridge weekly to make sure that things don't go waste or I don't order something already there. If there are things that might get ruined before I can use, I will give to my household help or the security guard working in our school. They make good use of it.

You pay household help, you aren't that frugal.

@thislittlepennyearns I stay in India and here household help is affordable by almost all households that comes in middle class economic strata. It is very common here and not exclusive for rich. I have stayed in the US for a decade, in other countries like Japan, UK and South Africa for short durations. I understand your point.

Rebel probably feels like she’s eating at a fine dining restaurant.

My leftovers are negligible after I turn them into something else. I´m a great fan of omelettes that include lefover pasta, rice or cooked potatoes. But when after all the possible changes that would mean another dish for me there is still something left, I call Luna and tell her that mom has a snack for her. She loves "human" food much better than dog food. I wholly agree with her.

I have a few dishes I need to toss, that have become science experiments at this point. I just can't bring myself to do it. Maybe I can work on it tomorrow.

Here the dish known as rice salad is meant to help use leftovers but in summer people actually go out of their way to buy the ingredients. Food waste is so sad considering there are people who starve elsewhere, glad your leftovers found a better place than the trash can, i.e. in Rebel's belly.

Rebel is very lucky to get all of those nice leftovers.
