15 April - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good afternoon from a gorgeous day in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. The high today was 71 F. It's currently 66 F and sunny with a light breeze. No clouds. I have much to be thankful for today. It's always good to have a plan to work with for the day. My plans for the day came with big changes. Pleasant ones. I'm thankful for my neighbor. They love to go to Mission BBQ. I went with them the first time. It's a wonderful place to eat and honors military and first responders. I joined the birthday club last week and they sent me a coupon for joining to be used by this Wednesday for a free sandwich. They asked me if I wanted to use my coupon today. So out the door I went. I had a turkey sandwich with potato salad. Before we finished, they came around to everyone with a fresh from the oven peach cobbler, free. It was all delicious. I've also accounted for all the calories. I'm thankful for a trip to Hy-Vee today after Mission BBQ. I usually go on Tuesday after Bible study, but now it won't be necessary. I got what I needed. My fridge is still looking a bit bare, but a lot better than it did. I also have bananas. I'm thankful for a trip to a thrift store after Hy-Vee. I didn't know about their second location. I found two reasonably priced things, one you see in the above picture, a new door hanger. The other is a ceramic lighthouse. I normally take the lights out, but decided to put it back and see if I could find a plug for it. It has two lights, a red blinking light at the top of the lighthouse and a white one at the lower part of the light house which lights up the windows. I'm thankful I have all my steps for the day. When I got home I found I still needed 1500 steps after all the walking in the stores, and walked the sidewalk of the complex. I'm also thankful I worked on New Horizons - Predators and Terrorists. Not much more than a readthrough with minor editing. This is a finished novel. I'm thankful I could spend time with you today. I finished the notifications twice. It's always nice to see how you are doing in your part of the world. I'm thankful for the phone call this morning from my daughter. It was two of the best hours of my day. She even told me she's proud of me. It brought tears to my eyes when she said that. Okay, that's my day, and yes, I played my games too. So, I think I checked off everything on my plans post.
