And so it is wars. These cute little dogs and cats and cows and horses and goats and many many other animals ...they lose life. Did they vote? No. Do they have problems in finding food because of humans? Yes. Why should they lose their life in a war not of their making? Isn't that disrespecting god? How then is god gonna like any of us?

I think God created Mother Nature so someone can get even with stupid humans and their stupid wars.

But the real culprits of starting the war mess are not troubled at all even by mother nature. I would unleash a pack of hungry street dogs on folks like that.

@jstory07 Stupid humans. They don't learn anything from their past. No kingdom has lasted forever. Why the greed then?

Agreed. We humans seem lack the code in our brain that says 'enough', and society doesn't help by promoting consumism and making us feel we're never satisfied. Of course, we can always have more, but if that 'more' implies the suffering of defenseless creatures, it's better to think twice. I know suffering can't ever be over and nature is ultimately cruel because of this, as we feed off each other, but it doesn't mean we have to overdo. Actually, it should motivate us to be more responsible. This could serve as a good reminder. Thanks for the post, Vanny!

Production can easily be planned these days. We have such well serving Internet and mobile access. Why excess production then? Which goes to expiry date, and then discarded? Less warehousing, less logistics, less fossil fuel consumption, less wastage of food. All that is now possible with the technology that we now have. Only that people are insecure to leave the age old "trusted" methods. I am truly concerned about these stray dogs. They get so hungry that they end up eating anything that is vulnerable...and this can be a human baby too. Our people have to become generous to these dogs. We no longer see stray puppies. Which means this problem will be around for just a decade or so. If they are fed, then babies will be safe. Such an ironic thing. They don't attack babies everyday. Once in several years. Still they get bad name. We kill them more often. But that does not find a place in newspaper. And then it is our wars....we don't even think about such dogs...they don't qualify as livestock.

@sabtraversa They also warn and don't attack suddenly. Yesterday, I fed a stray dog that was left on the street and it was obvious that she was a pet because she had good well kept fur...the only reason she was on the streets was she had cancer...a large lump from her belly. I felt sorry for her. Our building does not allow pets. So I cannot bring strays home. But boy I felt sorry for her. Some other dog bit her ear. May have been on the street for a week or 10 days. It takes time to learn how to get food without other dogs attacking you.

@vandana7 Yup, dogs attack only if starving or threatened. Their language is simple, so is the way they think. Most of the time all it takes is to look at their tails, but eyes and ears communicate too. If more people realize this, they will be less afraid. After all, we fear what we don't know. Stray dogs aren't even wild, they're accustomed to humans and depend on us. Dogs aren't meant to be strays in the first place.

The animals always come up short. We have rescued over 30 that have come out of the woods here and starving. Some have been hunting dogs abandoned. Others cats that were probably born in the woods and lost. It's really sad. And those blown up in wars...just sad!

@vandana7 Very true and I would say there are just as many people who are not dog/cat lovers as there is are pet lovers. I have always thought pets were good judges of human character. Every notice how some dogs don't like some people?

Why nobody asks about their rights? They obviously cannot communicate with humans their woes, fears, hunger, and pain.

@kareng Yes, they understand us better. I wonder how my street dogs would react to either Putin or Netanyahu.

@vandana7 I am not. I am saying that humans have free will and not nice. Their choice. God gave free will.

Animals kept the world green and healthy for a long time. We made a mess of it within about 10000 years of our existence.

@vandana7 You are right Vanny and then we even dare to say that "God made the man to his image..." Goodness, I think we are really offending God pretending this.

I agree with that. Animals are more caring. If one animal bites, it is because he or she cannot communicate why. We create a ruckus around it. But when we kill so many animals in our wars, we don't even think of ourselves as butchers. Sigh. You too have a good day Linda. Been reading slightly positive news in your posts.

We all feel sympathetic towards the helplessness of Jews in Nazi concentration camps. Aren't the animals as helpless?

And we talk of animal rights, and we have pets. The pet food and pet care industries should be up in arms against such murders.
