I told my friend to not even think about it

My coworker/friend (we are the divorce buddies who went through it at the same time) was told today to not even think about it. What am I talking about? I see one of her sons all the time at work. I went to go get something from the printer that is in another teacher's classroom (seriously? 2024 and not every classroom has a printer?) and saw him. He said he hadn't seen me in awhile and he hoped I'd be at their pool this summer. (of course!) Then he told me that one of their younger female cats had gotten out overnight and they think she is pregnant. I texted her and told her to not even consider offering me a kitten because I do not have the self-control to say no. She responded that I would be the FIRST one she'd ask! We are only allowed 2 pets here per apartment. For most of the time I've been here I've had 3 but no one cares. I don't cause problems. I don't destroy the place. I'm friendly and respectful to maintenance, management, and the neighbors. I'm currently at 2 cats but I wouldn't be able to say no to a kitten.

If you want a kitten, I hope you get away with having an additional pet. We need more loving pet parents.

Most apartment complexes don't care so long as the tenents aren't trouble makers. If you can take care of the cats, more power to you. We've had up to four cats at one time, ourselves. living in apartments. We've paid for one, had three.

I hope that your two are accepting of the new kitten if you get one. Whiskey too!

I hope you can say no and have a willpower to do so.
