Wondering if You Respond to Being Called a Name?

I don't believe anyone likes to be called names, especially if those names are in the slightest way derogatory. So, if anyone here posts something and calls all of us a name with each post, are we interested in responding? I'm not. I have noticed that this tactic, although the person may think it cute or funny, does not often get many responses or likes. Could it be the name-calling? I won't elaborate further because I don't want to call out any name of anyone posting like this. I have responded once to this person asking about the name-calling but got no response back. It is sort of like saying Y'all maybe? Yet not. And the name used is from decades ago and no longer really used. Does this tactic entice you to respond to a post?

I don't think I even notice, I focus on the topics discussed and look at the pictures and hope something comes to mind so I can provide a valuable response like the guidelines suggest. If the discussion only prompts a "congrats", "good to hear" and so forth I usually refrain from replying. So I try to create discussions where people can actually share their opinions or experiences. Unfortunately I'm clueless about what you're referring to, I imagine someone greeting with a "hey butt pimples" or something along those lines. But I suppose offensive speech shouldn't be allowed in the first place.

Butt Pimples. LOL It isn't necessarily offensive, but in my opinion, sort of rude. I looked up the actual definition after I posted this and it is a term used back in the 50s and 60s to refer to a certain type of people. It is used in the titles of almost all of the posts this person makes, so it just makes me curious. I asked the person about it but didn't get a response to my comment as to why they are calling us this term. Oh well. I think he just thinks he is being funny. Who knows?

@capirani Oh, now it's more specific. Perhaps I wouldn't even be able to recognize such term, I wonder if he's even aware.

No because if I did, the post probably would have been removed. I am sort of surprised it wasn't removed anyway. But you will probably figure it out eventually now that I said something about it. It is always in the discussion title.

I'm sorry, but I cannot say anything specific. If I did, this discussion would have been removed. I am surprised this discussion wasn't already removed. But you will probably figure it out eventually now that I said something about it. It is always in the discussion title.

@capirani Well, if it's a way to call people that you use in the United States, I will never figure out.

There's no excuse for name calling on this site.

I take no notice of name calling in any situation, there is no need for it.

I don't really know what you mean. I do think you have to give those from other nationalities the benefit of the doubt sometimes. I've been called 'dear' and 'sister' - stuff like that - but it's has all been well-intended. You could always message the person and say it bothers you. Until someone says it's a bit disturbing, they're not going to know to stop.
