Continuing from : For some folks, one month or even 10 to 15 days might be a big enough time for changing a living place. Definitely not time enough for me with a family. Even 3 months look insufficient. I called up the landlord again and requested him to extend for a month and if not possible at least for 20 days. He did not agree. He said that he can "arrange" help in finding alternate place- simply just a glib talk. So the situation was that willingly or unwillingly I had to look for an alternative. That meant my finances would be hit, job work affected and mental and psychological strain on my family. Someone might think that why I didn't had a place of my own. Well, I cannot answer that here. That could have come true but certain family matters, interpersonal matters and more were the root cause. Else I was staying at our family home till 2011. I started looking for alternate. On weekends, I visited 4-5 places and called 8 to 9 different agents. Zommed on a few alternates but kept making a wider list even though the given time was less. More to follow ......................
Background: Drastic and significant event in my life over the past month and a few days have been causing me big unrest- physically, mentally and...

Are you considering alternatives, just in case you cannot find a place? Would it be possible to store your belonging and go to live at your family home for a while, so that you have more time to find the place you need?

@LadyDuck We managed to get an alternative. Our concern was that if one has the time, one can go for better alternatives. One has to compromise on more things with lesser time. We have so many household things that getting them stored at family home as of now is nearly impossible. There are some future solutions but a lot depend on certain individuals as well. Will bring out one or two more parts in the coming times.

@LadyDuck We don't have such facilities here. Having so many things and heavy ones mean that I would have to take care of all of them.

That does sound like a whole lot of stress for you all. I hope things turn(ed) out okay.

My friend, I can wholly sympathize with you in this dilemma.. Now you may understand this is my life, on the move constantly, at the whim of landlords, rather slumlords. No alternative but looking for shiteholes to live in. I could write a novel on this topic. I am sorry this is happening to you, I well understand the hardship of it. All of it. This is why we have nothing material as moving all the time, we cannot afford storage of anything also even if you store it, it will be robbed here. The thieves will take it from the storage. We have no roots, no home to go to, no family to live with. Utterly at the mercy of scum and thrown to the wind.

@RebeccasFarm I had understood a bit. Under the circumstances and the situation I am facing, I can say that this is a very tough situation- physically, mentally and psychologically. Our situation is worse as in India, the Furnished houses for rent are too expensive. So we have to carry Beds, Fridge, AC, Washing machine etc from place to place.
