Day 96 – Guilty Leviticus 5:1 ‘If a person sins in hearing the utterance of an oath, and is a witness, whether he has seen or known of the matter —if he does not tell it, he bears guilt. 2 ‘Or if a person touches any unclean thing, whether it is the carcass of an unclean beast, or the carcass of unclean livestock, or the carcass of unclean creeping things, and he is unaware of it, he also will be unclean and guilty. 3 ‘Or if he touches human uncleanness—whatever uncleanness with which a man may be defiled, and he is unaware of it—when he realizes it, then he will be guilty. 4 ‘Or if a person swears, speaking thoughtlessly with his lips to do evil or to do good, whatever it is a man may pronounce by an oath, and he is unaware of it—when he realizes it, then he will be guilty in any of these matters. 5 ‘It will be, when he is guilty in any of these matters, that he will confess his sin in that thing; 6 and bring his trespass offering to JEHOVAH for his sin which he committed, a female from the flock, a lamb, or a kid of the goats as a sin offering. The priest will make atonement for him concerning his sin. 7 If he cannot bring a lamb, then he will bring to JEHOVAH, for his trespass which he committed, two turtledoves or two young pigeons: one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. 8 He will bring them to the priest, who will offer the sin offering first, and wring off its head from its neck, but will not divide it completely. 9 Then he will sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering on the side of the altar and drain out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. It is a sin offering. 10 He will offer the second as a burnt offering according to the prescribed manner. The priest will make atonement on his behalf for his sin which he committed and forgive him. 11 If he cannot bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons, then he who sinned will bring for his offering one-tenth of an ephah of fine flour as a sin offering. He will put no oil on it, nor frankincense on it, for it is a sin offering. 12 Then he will bring it to the priest, and the priest will take his handful of it as a memorial portion and burn it on the altar according to the offerings made by fire to JEHOVAH. It is a sin offering. 13 The priest will make atonement for him, for his sin he committed in any of these matters; and forgive him. The rest will be the priest’s as a grain offering.’” 14 Then JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 15 “If a person commits a trespass, and sins unintentionally regarding the holy things of JEHOVAH, then he will bring to JEHOVAH as his trespass offering a ram without blemish from the flocks, with your valuation in shekels of silver according to the shekel of the sanctuary, as a trespass offering. 16 He will make restitution for the harm he did regarding the holy thing and will add one-fifth to it and give it to the priest. The priest will make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering and forgive him. 17 “If a person sins and commits any of these things which are forbidden by the commandments of JEHOVAH, though he does not know it, yet he is guilty and will bear his iniquity. 18 He will bring a ram to the priest without blemish from the flock, with your valuation, as a trespass offering. The priest will make atonement for him regarding his ignorance in which he erred and did not know it and forgive him. 19 It is a trespass offering; he trespassed against JEHOVAH.” God’s name: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Iesous – Jesus God’s character: Judge Christos – Anointed One Ignorance is not bliss. How many times does a person stand before a judge and tell him he didn’t know he did anything wrong? How often does a child tell his or her parents they didn’t know they did anything wrong? Does it make the punishment less because they didn’t know? You cannot justify ignorance. JEHOVAH told Moses it didn’t matter if the person knew or not whether he committed a sin against the commandments He gave him. Sin was sin. He was guilty and needed to atone for his sin. The only way to atone for his sin was to bring a trespass offering and burnt offering to the priest so he would forgive him. You are liable for everything you do, good or bad. Ignorance will never justify your wrongful behavior. James 2:8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You will love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well; 9 but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10 For whoever will keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. You cannot have it both ways. You cannot be guilty of one part without being guilty of the whole. However, you have a way out—through confession. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Iesous Christos the righteous. 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. When you accepted Iesous as your Savior and Lord, He provided a way through His sacrifice on the cross to redeem you from every sin you committed against JEHOVAH and cleansed you with His blood. You only need to confess your sin and JEHOVAH will forgive you. When you pray ask JEHOVAH to forgive you of all your sins, even those you are unaware of, and He will forgive you. Let’s pray: Father, forgive me of my sin, the sins I know about and the sins I don’t. Let me stand before you, not in my righteousness, but in the righteousness of Your Son, knowing that You forgive me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. The sacrifice of the son, Jesus Christ, has made it possible for me to receive forgiveness of God without all those animal sacrifices.

What's even worse is knowing you did something wrong and feeling really bad about it. Have a blessed day.

I guess Christians, or God's own people, have less of an excuse for ignorance in their sinning, than someone, who has never known God, or had the chance to know him yet, and yet some part of us, always recognises wrongdoing, and so we are going against that inner feeling, which is our inner guidance, coming through us from God, that acts in us to prevent, or move us away from sinning. As you said, "You are liable for everything you do, good or bad. Ignorance will never justify your wrongful behavior." and I agree with that too.

@just4him Yes, we should not suppress the truth in us, nor rid ourselves of the knowledge of God in us either. We need to retain truth in us, as well as value, and acknowledge, the knowledge of God in us too.
