Fans or Air Conditioner?

Israel

On hot days, which do you prefer? To put on a fan, or the air conditioner? I personally like the fan, because when we put in the air conditioner, the water that goes out on a hot day landed on the neighbors way down seven flights, into their garden and gathered lots of mosquitos. So we have the water drain into a bucket. The problem is that after a while the bucket fills up and is heavy to carry to spill out. I don't have that problem with a fan. So I use the fan.

I live in an apartment with central air conditioning, so I prefer that over a fan. I remember my air went out for 13 days once in 95 degree heat, and the two fans I had were not helpful at all (but they dried my eyes out). I remember my friend came over during that time and left after five minutes because she couldn’t take how stuffy it was (opening the window would have been worse). I don’t run my air all day, every day, of course. My electric bill would be ridiculous.

My apartment has windows to the North so it is cooler than the apartments that have big windows to the south. I am sipping ice water as well.

When it's a scorching 50°C, a fan's no match. AC's the only thing that can really cool us down. So, yeah, when it's that hot, AC it is!

@lifecoachjerusalem In ours it is that hot! Heat index here today is 46 °C, never goes below 40 °C and can reach to as high as 56 °C. That's why fans can only do so much. Defo cannot wait for the wet season.

Of course the air conditioner will work better but if it is not so hot, I prefer to the fan much more since it spends less electricity.

And since I have to empty out the bucket of water every 6 hours or so, it is a bit heavy. . . So I use the fan.

I can see why you prefer the air-conditioner. I would too in that case.

Personally,i prefer a fan to AC,When i turn on a fan with windows open,i can keep my room airy. But we must close windows and door while turning on a AC,the room is not airy, thus AC is not good for health. However we can release AC water out of windows on the vacant ground within factory,we don't worry about AC water.
