Good morning everyone, I read earlier about some restaurants automating drive through orders using AI. What are your thoughts on this? I can see how it would improve efficiency to some extent, but it does concern some that it might rob people of much needed work. I think it'd be beneficial to have humans still on hand to double check the orders.

There are times that people have questions, etc. I don't see how AI can handle that.

As an introvert, I'm glad the world is becoming more welcoming to people like me. Unfortunately the potential businesses see in AI doesn't always involve the improvement of quality and accessibility, or the work conditions of their employees. When all they care about is profit, it can be a problem. It'd still be convenient to have someone supervising the automatic process, especially in case customers need assistance: the option to speak to a real person should always be available.

Would something like a drive through bank machine be considered AI? I guess drive through fast food being automated is not any different than the automated kiosks already in McDonald's. I guess I don't know what is new about AI. How is talking to a fast food order machine different than taking to text on my phone? That isn't very new.
