Picking up pencils

When I am out for the morning walk with the dog, I often see pencils on the sidewalk or in the gutter. So I pick them up and use them. No one is going to come back looking for a lost pencil and it is a shame to let it be swept into the garbage. Wjhen I was in Brussels two years ago I found a pencil in the gutter and I used it all up.
This is my way of helping to keep the city clean. Here are two pencils that I found last week.

I am using the pencils. I always write with pencil so I can easily erase some mistakes while I am teaching online. I keep a list of all the words that the student needs to study.

I don't think I've every seen a discarded pencil here. Very occasionally I see a biro but not pencils.
