Elephants in London

I went to London the other day to do my Schengen Visa for Italy for my upcoming wedding this June. I came way too early and arrived 4 hours ahead of appointment time. While walking around and killing time, I stumbled upon this elephant haven. The place is called Spitalfields it is packed with food stalls, interesting crafts, clothes and it is full of elephant statues. As a lover of art and cute things, I found myself taking photo after photo until it was my appointment time. Oh how true it is that time flies when you are having fun.

Hello, it is so nice to see you back. Spittafields must be an interesting place where to spend time while you wait for your appointment. I thought to you a few days ago, thinking that your wedding day is coming closer.

Hello Anna it was a great place it took away some of the stress. Yes the wedding is coming up and I feel really overwhelmed. It took me months to get a visa appointments slot. On the other hand I am really excited to visit Italy again.

@LadyDuck The Philippine Consulate is no better. They do not even have photocopier and printer in site for clients to use.

@flapiz Those public offices are a shame! Imagine that it took 3 months to us to get our births certificates from Milan. The Italian Consulate is a shame!

Truly. I had so much fun just looking around that part of me was sad when I had to leave. There were other installations there too apart from the elephants. Art does cheer people up.

That's an interesting part of the city. I basically never go to London, even though it's not that far from here.

If I had a choice I wouldn't too. But most of the government offices are in London. So I do my errands from time to time.

I love elephant statues mainly because of my mother who loves them too. Growing up we've had small and big ones - porcelain elephant statues/figurines at home. They say to own one is auspicious.

Oh that is a good collection to have. She must've gotten a big collection. I did not know that they were auspicious. Although in India they have a half elephant god named Ganesh.
