I am so over these college protests about the Israel/Gaza/HAMAS war. They are 100% unproductive. I'm not saying that I am unsympathetic to what both Israel and Palestinian civilians in Gaza are going through. But spoiled American college students need to knock this crap off. Hundreds of pro-Palestine students at Columbia University occupied a building called Hamilton Hall yesterday (or the day before--I'm not sure). They broke in, barricaded themselves in, and apparently held janitors hostage. They hung banners saying various things including "intafada". Fine. Whatever. The police were always going to eventually kick them the hell out. Incredibly yesterday one of them claiming to be the spokesperson for the protestors gave a press conference yesterday and demanded that the university provide food and water for the students who were illegally occupying the building. First she said that the university was obligated to feed students who had paid for a dining plan. Um, several dining halls were open. All they had to do was walk out the door and go to one of them to eat. Then she pivoted to saying that the students needed "humanitarian aid" as if they were actual war refugees and said they could die from dehydration or starvation. Yup. That's not happening in 24 hours. Finally when a reporter called her out on her absurd BS she said they just wanted a guarantee that the university wouldn't interfere with food/water being delivered to them. Like seriously? You are illegally occupying and destroying a building and then claiming that the owner of that building should bring you food and water? Talk about insane entitled thinking.

Insanity happens everywhere. Here some illegal immigrants took over government owned land. Now they want the government to make houses for them there. This is when I can only swear in amazement.

As one character on a Mexican comedy show would say "It is one thing to love your enemies but I do not remember allowing my enemy to take over my home.' -Ramon Valdez (1924-1988)

I watched most of this unfold in the night. I was shocked that they went there by their own choice and then wanted food and drinks. They accomplished nothing, used up many resources, and no doubt by now have called mom and dad to come and save them. I said the same thing—-entitled. There are no words for how stupid they are.

Stupid is as stupid does. Sounds like people can't get their stories straight on what is right or wrong.

And when the people in Gaza are actually experiencing extreme deprivation and being denied humanitarian aid it seems like some sort of sick joke.

I laughed out loud at this. "First she said that the university was obligated to feed students who had paid for a dining plan."
