Could Donald Trump screw up his own criminal trial?

I am hearing and reading reports that former US "president" Donald Trump is dissatisfied with his lead attorney because he is not "going after" witnesses, the jury and the judge enough. Do you think he should pretend he never bumped uglies with Stormy Daniels and never had a 10-month affair with Karen McDougal? Or should he say those things may or may not have happened, but that they are not crimes? If I were his lawyer, I would try to show that paying off these women was Michael Cohen's idea, not Trump's own. Can the prosecution prove beyond a reasonable doubt that these payoffs were Trump's own idea? I'll attach a decent summary by a former prosecutor. I agree with much of what he says. What would you do if you were Trump's lawyer?

I told yesterday to my husband that Trump is trying to be put in jail so that he will appear as a victim of the bad American justice system. I am sure he thinks this will help his campaign. People voting against a corrupted legal system.

@TheHorse Important leaders in the past "faked" an aggression to gain pity, sympathy and support.

@LadyDuck Can you elaborate on this? "Important leaders in the past "faked" an aggression to gain pity, sympathy and support."

It's a ploy he might try. At this point he is pretty desperate.

If I were a lawyer in the US I would not be tempted for any money to be Trumps attorney. Whatever the outcome, my life as a lawyer would end afterwards.

Yes, what you say, if I were his lawyer, try to prove it was Michael Cohen's idea. Here is another thing someone speculated online two days ago, that Trump may be seeking to spend a short time in Prison for pure political purposes, to make himself a Martyr because he knows people will vote for him. What do you think of that?

I have heard that too, and it may be a part of why the judge in the criminal case is so hesitant to put him behind bars. Technically, he may have violated his terms of release in his other pending cases.

@TheHorse I read this morning that he is admitting he wanted to go to the capital. Of course he is telling it like he was polite about it

Trump is a compulsive liar. He still won't admit any of his shenanigans.

Some job I manage to close my eyes and do- shower drain has hair in it, I will try to fix the mess. Be T Butt's lawyer? That's a gagging offense.

I would not want to be his lawyer. How will you deal with the hair?

@sallypup Well, not really. But I just just think about what I would do if Trump entered my house. Ew. That was a gross thought.

I wouldn't be Trump's lawyer. Prior information would defer me from making such a decision. Have a good day.

He is a pain in the neck. I can't believe how vulnerable so many Americans were.
