Howdy from a regular spot…not that I didn’t eat at Chuy’s on the road. I can get to the one in Chattanooga without the GPS’ assistance now. I’m home for a week (appointments) before one more week (golf tournament) that’ll close down the spring travel time. I might hit the Fort Wayne tournament, but I’m not sure. But you don’t care about any of that, you want music! And music you shall have. I can hear @Scarred4Lyfe purring over this one…. Help Me Through the Night - Joe Walsh Let’s see who reads these. This is NOT the Kris Kristofferson song “Help Me Make It Through the Night.” I know you don’t care what’s right or wrong, but that’s a completely different song (not to mention that a woman sang the hit version of it ). Joe Walsh was in A LOT of pain when he made this album. His 35-month-old daughter had been killed in an automobile accident. If you ever wondered why Walsh did all the drugs he did, that’d probably explain it right there. The closing song on the album, “Song for Emma,” is about the pain of losing his daughter. This one can be interpreted that way as well (“then they take the dream away and it just ain’t fair”). Backing vocals are by his future bandmates the Eagles. Pain produces great music. I wish he hadn’t had the pain for such a great song. Help Me Through the Night Written by Joe Walsh Recorded by Joe Walsh From So What, 1974 Open my eyes again:

He’s been through a lot. He’s a Gold Star family member, too: his father was killed in a plane crash in Okinawa when Joe was 18 months old.

Love 70s music and this song. I have one his albums somewhere, can't think which one, but it does have Life's been Good

That’s But Seriously, Folks… from 1978. (Not that I had the album or anything….)

I love this song in my different version but my all time favorite is Elvis, Then I up the volume, lean back, close my eyes and let the song wash over me,

The back stories to some of these singers is very interesting - and tragic.

It’s quite interesting how he can really “tone it down” for ballads. Doesn’t sound anything like “Rocky Mountain Way,” does it!

Joe should consider running for Prezzydent.
