Larry Morganti who served in the United States Air Force (USAF) in Vietnam from 1967-1968 lost his lost dog tags when he was on duty serving with the 311th Squadron of the USAF when he lost his dog tags during a mission to supply supplies to Marine Camps in Da Nang and the airfield. Larry asked his first sergeant for a replacement of his lost dog tags. What happened was that a Swedish man named Kristoff Hansen who is a construction worker who found the lost dog tags using a metal detector even though where the dog tags were located. Kristoff who found out that Larry who is an artist that has his work inside of a vendor shop called "The Vault" tried to contact Larry via Facebook to share him the good news of the lost dog tags being found. When Larry found out that Kristoff was nice enough to contact him to return the lost dog tags via mail in late April thanking him for his service. Kristoff had to convince Debrah Lane who is the manager of the store that he was not a scam artist when he first tried to contact Larry two years ago. Larry is very happy to reunite with his dog tags after 56 years since he knows that they are some good people in our world today. Link is abc3340.com/news/offbeat/i...

That's great that Larry found his dog tags so many years later.

Nice how Kristoff realized how valuable these dog tags could have been for someone and went looking for whom they might belong to, and thankfully he managed to find and contact Larry.

That is a long time for a lost dog tag to come home to its owner. I assume Larry got his two dog tags back then, as most military personnel get two ID tags like that. I wonder which bunny came up with what sounds like a derogatory term for an ID tag, a dog tag.

I have no idea where the term dog tag came from.
