It needs to go

This is a Teasmade, which belonged to my parents. Basically it’s a combined alarm clock, bedside light and kettle. You set it for your desired wake-up time, and at that time it boils the kettle, dispenses the water into the teapot, then turns the light on and wakes you up with an alarm. Quite a clever device really. I have fond memories of getting into my parents’ bed on a Saturday morning as a young child. They would have a tray prepared the night before with cups and saucers and a jug of milk, and there was a round tin of ginger biscuits. To this day I still have a fondness for slightly soft ginger biscuits I would keep it for old times’ sake except I really can’t justify it since I wouldn’t use it – I can’t bear alarms and I don’t drink tea! So it’s going on Ebay and I hope someone else will enjoy it. It does work perfectly, I tested it yesterday to make my partner a cup of tea at 3:30 pm and it was spot on. In the right marketing niche, an item such as this could fetch a pretty penny - maybe even a nicked nickel - or perhaps a dull dime.

Clever indeed! Better than those automatic coffee makers.

Maybe it should be on Antiques Roadshow. lol We've been watching that lately. It's on about the time Vince is getting our dinner.

I used to think about getting one of these, but never did. Now I don't need one

It could be a collectible. Good luck selling it. Have a good weekend.

A nice vintage item, not for me, I never liked to have breakfast in bed and the light on with the alarm would surely put me in a very bad mood.

I would love something like that. I'm sure it will sell quickly on Ebay.
