I think people use the anonimity ofthis site to allow them to say and do things they normally wouldn't in real life. I think people who say flat out mean comments do so because they are punks in the real world and now is their chance to have some ballz.

actually mylot has provided people a great way to hide behind the screen and that's the reason why ppl abuse others easily....they feel it's something to be proud of but actually forget how great a sin it is to hurt anyone's feelings.....

Well..Some people just find it funny to be rude to other people,Because of the kind of environment, and family they we're raisedin, and some people may find something funny, when someone else may find it offensive,or it may just be becase some people know that you really can't get into much trouble on My lot with A bad rude comment like they would give, but in real life they have A low self-esteem,and they want to be mean to people on here,to make themselves feel better, but usually in the en,They will only feel worse about what they had said..I Hope that answers you're question...

Ahh..Thank you..I only attack when provocked...In A major way,and then I will try to keep my cool..I am usually A nice person to be around, but yes, that is why alot of people are rude on here..But you are A good poster,too..And even I have sacasism, but I let the person know it is sarcasm..And not meaning to be offensive, and suually if I think something will be the least bit offensive,I say no offense, and I don't mean it in A bad way,But thank you...You're good, too.

i do totally agree with you on it .. people should not come and be rude and just go off in the middle of a serious conversation .. if its a funny one .. i wudnt mind giving weird responses .. one should always make sure that sarcasm is different from abuse .. i do give very sarcastic comments .. but i never abuse .. and another thing is .. what appears rude to one person may just appear frankness and outspokenness to another person .. so i guess theres a wide variety of people here

I don't think rudeness should be reported since it is more of a social faux pas than serious offense. Abusive, threatening or sexually harrasing language to me is a serious offense. You can return rudeness for rudeness without violating mylot's policies.

There is a difference between making fun of and giving a silly answer to a ridiculas question..there has to be some levity here..I hope that I have not offended anyone by being silly..but some questions are just to funny...

Yes...There is A major difference,Between being silly on A post that is meant to be silly, and being rude, and hateful on A post that is serious,About terroism,or deaths,or something of that matter,How would they feel if it happened to them? They should think before they act...I agree with you,As well Mindy.

I sometimes get a little tongue in cheek when I answer some questions. Sometimes something just strikes me as funny. I think that might be the case with others. I guess that there are those who are rude, but for myself, I find most people on this site are extremely polite, and would in no way want to hurt another's feelings. And sometimes, from the way the question is posted, it's not easy to tell whether it's serious or just put out for cute responses. For me, I think if you basically have a good heart you're not going to hurt someone's feelings. Then there are those who interpret everyone and everything as a personal affront to them. It wouldn't basically matter how you answered, they would take offense.

1. Sometimes, the participants will not have any answer and just to respond, they write something - may be it is meaningless. 2. Sometimes, the subject matter is not properly understood and answers become irrelevant. 3. Sometimes, due to language problems, the answers look slighly rude. 4. There are a few guys who are deliberately rude or silly. It is difficult to find people of same wavelength in a forum like this. So, Adjust, Accept and Apprciate.

If you want to see some really mean comments, you should go to the post about Girls with tatoos look like trash. Anyone who posted something was made fun of. It didn't help that the poster had an accomplice..it was weird. If you've had mean comments, I bet you would feel better knowing that it could have been worse!

I was also wondering about this. I have also found something like this. It's an art to prove your point without being rude or hurting anyone. But the good thing is the percentage of such people is very low and they do not leave any impact here. As you, me and others have noted this I think you may not see such behaviour later.

The problem is...Reader..It is not always A game...And alot of people cannot ignore it,Because they are being serious about something that has happened, and that makes them feel even worse, when people are rude to them,it makes them feel horrible...I do not mean to sound mean, but it is the truth..I know how alot of it is..Alot of people are mean to me,some of it I can ignore...But some I cannot...

Which is why it is ok to be a little silly as long as the poster knows you are being so...we all need the laugh sometimes...

You know, this is a good discussion. I have also wondered the same thing. It's perfectly ok to state an opinion, but mature intelligent people can do that without resorting to rudeness. To me, it just shows their immaturity and stupidity. As I believe someone else here posted, people use the anonymity to hide behind so they feel they can come into a discussion and behave like an ill mannered child who really just needs a time out or a spanking. I try not to let the ill bred ones get to me though. I consider the source. LOL Lillith :)
