Resolving Discussions?

Once you post a message and after getting reply for us, when you choose one as a best answer. The discussion gets resolved

I suppose it means that the member who posted the question to discuss choices a best answer, putting an end to the discussion. Nevertheless, people can go on posting answers after a best answer has been selected.
