Does anyone know how to recover a basement that has been flooded?

I'm looking for ideas on how to clean up a flooded basement the right way after it has been drained. We had about 2 feet of water in the basement today until the plumber cleaned it out. I will have to throw away many things but I'm worried about mold and germs etc... Any good ideas??

I have a feeling that there are quite a few people who have had this happen at least once. I'm just not sure what else to do for it because it's still so damp and wet
