Do you teach your children to question authority? Or do you instruct them to simply obey whoever is "in charge"?

When mine were little I taught them strict obedience to my authority. As they grew older, I gradually introduced the idea of questioning what they're told. Now that they're adults, I don't expect them to blindly follow anyone, including me.

I teach my children to obey authority. If I didn't they would be out of control kids. Questioning authority comes later when you are an adult and mature enough to make the right choices.

But what if the authority is wrong? Also, I know lots of adults who never learn to question it because they were not taught as children that authority figures are not always automatically right.
