your dad is a banker, so is your mom. would you end up as a baker, too? or would you take a different road?

In my experience, most don't follow int heir parents' footsteps, except for children from rich backgrounds. Often children of doctors will become doctors, children of lawyers will become lawyers, etc. My hubby and I are both science graduates and work in different fields - he's in scientific sales, I'm in medical research. So far our eldest seems destined for a career in law, though with a science bent (he's a first year law/science student) The twins are 16 and still deciding, but looks like one might go the law way as well, or perhaps engineering, while the other will try for a sports administration career.

very well said, thanks for responding. my parents were both bankers. my sister works in the loans department of a private bank, but i was never good at numbers, so i had to take a different course.
