Noise, noise, noise.

It seems that most of my neighbours were having work done on their houses today - driveways being paved, new windows, roof repairs and of course gardeners with their whiny mowers and strimmers and clippers. Noise, noise, noise. My own activities today were quiet and unnoticed by the neighbours. I fixed a leak in the shower, replacing the sealant and concluding that perhaps it’s time to replace the entire, elderly bathroom. I continued (again quietly) to paint an old chest of drawers to use as a plant stand which will sit outside the back door so that the big bowl of hyacinths I’ll shortly be planting will be lifted closer to my nose when I go outside and I’ll be able to smell them with out bending over. The chest of drawers will be purple, the drawer fronts green and the knobs yellow. Now as I lie in bed all I hear is the rain, sweet, refreshing and quite heavy. A cool breeze has invaded the bedroom and I’m feeling good.
