Audio Books: What do you people think about them?

I have a huge collecton of Audio books and have listened to most of them. when i was hospitalised and bedridden for almost a month my audio books collectiion was a god send. at that time i was able to just lie in the bed, not even able to read a book or watch TV. I have benefitted much from them so how about you people. How do you people listen to them? ipod, car ....etc? What are your favourite audio books? Is it really safe to listen to audio books when you are driving? what are the advantages and disadvantages of audio books? Do you record your classroom lectures and listen to them later?and I have set aside some boring lectures and I hear them to fall asleep:P
