CHILD’S DOLLHOUSE BRINGS OVER $200,000-HAVE YOU EVER SOLD ANYTHING AT AUCTION?

Buy the best and it will always be a good investment. That is one of the rules we have often heard. It is true of houses, especially dollhouses. Mary Merritt and her husband, Bob, had a doll and toy museum for many years and bought internationally for the collection. Part of the contents of the museum was auctioned last week and the prize dollhouse, a nineteenth-century Scottish building called Hope Villa, 55 inches wide by 37 inches tall, sold for an amazing $225,500. Could have bought a nice full-sized house for that amount. The sale by Noel Barrett was a huge success, bringing almost $2.5 million. Have you ever sold anything at auction?

Thanks for sharing that info. I have never even had a doll house, let alone sell one. Yes, I have sold numerous things at auctions. However, I have never made the true value on anything. It seems to be better for the buyer, than the seller.

The closest I got to a doll house, was a huge refrigerator box my mom gave me. I cut out a door and windows, painted the outside, and I was the doll inside it. :)

I've never had one either. I was always envious of my friends who did.

Dollhouse - My dad built this dollhouse by himself with various materials and it looks great. The inside is incredible.
I have never sold anything at an auction. That is amazing that a dollhouse would sell for that large amount of money. It must have been a huge and well built dollhouse. My parents have a dollhouse in their home that my dad made himself for my sister when she was much younger and it is the picture that you see here. My parents decorate it differently per each holiday and season and is really neat. I wonder how much they could sell theirs for, though I know it would not be $200,000.

hmm I wonder if these stupid beanie babies will ever sell :) ... and be worth something. Dang I can see when my parents pass if mom does not leave them in her will to someone. The Fights will be over those Beanies, and I will say take all the beanies I want the land and the houses.. Get outta here lol ... One of the few things that have not been stolen from me is my beanies maybe by then I could auction those off to go toward land and house payments. - DNatureofDTrain :) .

Great! Where money are spent, What an irony that some would work hard for a penny and some would spend millions on some auction, Life! I sure would like to sell on auction, I shall be learning how
