The Joke is on me but have no complaint

Our daughter has filled up her form to be a candidate for NEET-PG. It's an eligibility test to get admission into post graduate courses of medical colleges. Now, as usual seats are few and competitors are too many. The information I have tells that seats are just about 1500 and candidates competing for them number about 2,80,000! Can you feel the heat? Now all these days, I had been expecting the exam centre to be in the state capital city, Kolkata. Bless the National Testing Agency, our child was allotted an exam centre in a district town 200 kilometres to the north west from our home town.That compels us to spend quite a big amount of money on travel, food and lodging. We will have to reach the town the previous night, stay in a lodge, have dinner, breakfast and lunch. We must hire a cab to present ourselves at the exam centre in time. The only sigh of relief is that though the exam centre is near the state border, it is still in our state of West Bengal. It could have been worse if the exam centre was in a place out of the home state! And to speak of the toughness and vastness of the exam. the candidates will be tested on all the 19 subjects, they studied through the five years of their MBBS! In a way, we parents are being tested as well!
