What Does the Word "harm" Mean to You?

For decades the Endangered Species Act has helped to conserve our forests and water ways in an attempt to keep endangered species safe and not cut out of a delicate ecosystem. With decision making, planning and collaboration the ESA has protected all manner of animals. That long standing definition of "harm" has now been changed with a new ruling. It used to mean that "wildlife recovery depends on healthy habitat." Now that is questionable. In 2025 the Audubon Society tried to get the agency to keep the longstanding definition. With the new rule the agency did not replace the definition with any alternative. Since 1970 North America has lost 3 billion birds and habitat is the leading cause. That remains the very foundation of successful species recovery. We must think seriously about our forests, grasslands, rivers and wetlands. Bipartisan conservation principles must be kept. Birds and other animals depend on it. What are your thoughts on this issue?
