She texted asking for money again

My downstairs neighbor is a real piece of work. I like her but she has gotten too used to me being kind/generous and paying her to care for my cats when I'm not around. I mean each day it takes like 10-15 minutes to fill the food and water bowls, scoop the litter boxes, and maybe clean up cat puke.
She texted me today asking me to pay her for the 2.5 weeks of cat-sitting when I get my summer savings tomorrow. She also asked if I wanted her to clean my apartment (obviously for more $$). She said she hated to ask but she didn't have anyone left to loan her money.
I thought that was interesting. I know her sister is always sending her money when she is in a bind. . . which is pretty much every month. I honestly don't know who else she could or would ask. She is very close with her sister so I don't know if there is a fight going on or what.
I received the retro pay for duty coverages this past year so I sent her $200. That is it. That is all she is getting. I haven't been around so the apartment should still be pretty clean. At this point I'll clean it myself just out of pure stubbornness.
She loves to say that I make "good money". I suppose I do but I am NOT going to start giving it to her. She can have her son chip in on the rent and car insurance. She can get an under the table job somewhere. She can stop buying her son the newest electronics. It is up to her to figure it out rather than relying on others.

Can she get a bucket and sponge and clean cars ….
Can she mow lawns …..
Can she walk dogs …..
Can she do shopping for people …..
Can she clean houses …..
Can she take in washing and ironing …..

I am more likely to help somebody out if they don't ask than I am to give them money if they're always saying they need it. Like you, I figure they can get a job and earn it themselves if they're "always" out of money.

Best of luck dealing with this. You must be excited about going home tomorrow? How will you get home?

I sort of hope the next time you go anywhere at all that someone else can care for your cats. I think I would cut her off completely and pretend she didn't exist. She surely does want a lot of money for 15 minutes of work per day, good grief.
