That's an odd question. It really depends on the situation and how each or either parent handles child care. Some parents can be equally efficient at caring for their children, and in other cases, either one, or both is incapable of caring on their own. I think if you are in the position of deciding who cares for your child, then firstly, you should sit down and discuss it with your partner/ex-partner and if you can't come to an agreement, then put your case to the courts. It depends greatly on the parent. In a perfect world, a child would be safe with both his parents. But sadly, a lot of people have kids when they can't handle it. In some situations a kid is better off with their mother, in some their father. There's no all encompasing right or wrong answer.
