is the end of the world so near?

for sometime now the debate on the end of the world has obviously been a heated one the issue about the end of the world is a very contraversial one and has genrated debates from all quarters of the world. What do you say?

The world is not about to end. There have been horrible times in human history before, and the world hasn't ended. There have been epic wars, genocides, religious and civil unrest all since the beginning of civilization. I think that says a lot more about humanity than it does about the end of times.
