Christmas Presents, do you set budget or buy on impulse?

Do you set a budget for how much you will spend on each person for Christmas, or do you just buy things when you see them and go "hey, so-and-so would like that!", and get it for them as long as it's reasonably priced.

I agree, we try to maintain the budget but if we are going to go over by $5 to $10 to get the "perfect gift for that person" we do it.

A budget is a very good thing when you buy anything, but even more so when you have many things to buy. Hopefully the taste of the person you are giving to will be considered when picking out gifts.

Yeah, we set a budget, and we think by limiting the amount it makes us look even more for a gift that fits that person since we can't but a bunch and just hope one might be one that they like.

i will set a budget for the gifts and will make sure that it's something that the receiver will like too. no point buying cheap presents that the receiver will not like.

true, I think by setting a budget it makes you think more about what a good gift is to buy for that person which is a good thing.

I have to buy on a budjet. But I will break budjet it I see something that's not a considerable amount more that I know they'll love.

Yeah, sort of violates the idea of the budget but still keeps spending under control, I know what you mean.
