The Power Of Words

I look around and i hear people say that words have no real meaning no real significants. How is that so when Words are the most Powerful thing that a human being posses? it can either Make or break a war, it can either hurt or liven someone, it can control the most significant of things. for instances when two people get married they make vows to each other, and those vows have the power to hurt someone should they be broken, or live happily ever after should they rein true. Or Speeches made in a presidential or political poll to get citizens of its country to vote for the man running for the position. Or promise that people make to each other and break them. Words can have the power to effect change and to make something better or worse, so why these days are people so careless with them? is it because of tv? is it because of the new age thing? is it because values and morals are athing of the past while very little have them now? or is it because there isnt enough education on it? What do you think?

An aspect that many forget is the words one says about and to one's self. They are just as powerful.

I understand that. I understand that alot but what i don't understand is why don't people become more involved? For instances if you hear old stories from your grand mother about her grand mother she'd tell you "we never spoke like that in those days we treated each word with respect and care"

words are very powerful, but just like every other powerful thing you need to learn how to use them and you need to be concentrated in order to use them properly. everyone can do that, but many people are too lazy to do that! in some way, we can say that they are doing their best to save energy... but i don't think they will get a reward for having saved this kind of energy!! i think this is not a problem of times, morals, values... it just lazyness. in many cases, there is even uncounsciousness of this problem. if you try to ask to someone he will immediately answer you "I can speak well!". they think that communication is just making words come out of your mouth, but it is not important what is actually coming out.

I agree words can affect a person such as someone being corrected on a continuously basis as a child they may grow up to think they cannot express themselves because they feel that nothing comes out of their mouth makes any sense or if someone sad to them as a child why do you were those funny clothing that person may grow up to feel as they can never be fashionable. sometimes words form beliefs about ourselves which may very much far from the truth.
