Mixed breed dogs usually have the best temperaments. I have three cats and a dog and it took a while for my cats to get used to my dog being around. They freaked out at first but after a couple months they started to calm down and come out of their hiding. Just make sure that your dog isn't being aggressive to your cats. That could be a problem. Just give them a little time and love and they should get along ok eventually.
