Smoking during pregnancy

I was smoking when I found out I was pergant with my first child I was going to stop smokeing but My doctor told me not to stop just cut back until I was in the 3rd trymester. He said that not only will I go though with drows but the baby will to and that the baby is still too weak to holdle the with draws. Now not all doctors agree on this. My doctors partner felt the completely other way. But I could see were my doctor was comeing from. Sp I slowly cut back and when I was in my 3rd tremster I was completely done smokeing

i had quit smoking with my first 2 pregnancies in my second trimesters, with my 3rd and last pregnancie for some reason i was unable to quit. my first 2 babies wieghed 8 lbs 4 oz and 8 lbs 8 oz. amd evryone always told me if i had continued to smoke i risked having a low birth weight baby. well with the last baby i smoked alot the entire time, not intentionally trying to harm my baby and she weighed in at 8 lbs 12 oz- the biggest of them all. thank God i have had a positive experience and all my children were born health. PS i do not condone smoking while pregnant, this is just my experience

I don't think a pregnant woman should smoke during pregnacy. You have to put that unborn child's needsd first.

I agree with you on this subject. My mom smoked while she was pregnant with me and I was a premature baby. I just barely survived at the beginning of my life. I used to smoke and finally quit after smoking for ten years. I quit smoking a long time before getting pregnant with my son, because I didn't want to have a premature baby or a misscarrage. I know first hand that it is very hard to quit smoking, but I made a pact not to get pregnant until I did stop smoking.

I think smoking during pregnancy is bad, as is drinking. Children born from their smoking mothers are at higher risk of experiencing low birth weight, pre mature arrival and respiratory problems. As for children born to mothers who drink, well they are at a high likelyhood of experiencing birth defects.

It's very bad, because your child could have problem of allergy

Oh no! No one should think smoking is okay while pregnant. It heightens the risk of delivery problems and the health of the mother. As well as that, smoking while pregnant heightens the risk of premature birth, birth defects, jaundice, heart and lung disfigurement, nicotine addiction and the quality of life for your baby!

I do not think smoking during that period is a good ... as it has many side effects.. like miscuraige and all..I think women should not smoke at all

Smkoing during pregnancy is very harmful for the child.Even a men should not smoke in front of a lady who is pregnant.

I have never smoked and i never drank anything while i was pregnant with my five children i wanted to give them the best start to life i could possibly do my sister on the other hand smoked all the way through her babies were really small they didn`t develop as normal and it was put down to her smoking i just couldn`t do it to a baby it`s wrong

Smoking during pregnancy is really prohibited for it will cause some birth defects to your child. I am not a smoker but for those smoker, please limit your smoking just for the sake of your baby. Give them a healthy lungs by not smoking.

i'm not a doctor but i believe that smoking is very bad for our health, what more during the stage of pregnancy, i think, it can somehow affect the baby negatively so i advise smokers who are bearing a child to stop smoking even just for the span of pregnancy to prevent dangerous side effects for your child. if you already delivered the child, then go back to smoking..
