USA playes the major role in Global warming any ideas

I knew this, but yesetrday i saw a documentry on a local televistion channel which was all about polution that United State generates makes it the most poluted country in the whole world. Carbon zinc i don't know wht else ... that includes in the air on USA..... It playes the major role in global warming,, follwed by China which is the 2nd most polution generating countery after the US and they say will be on top after a decade or so. Why don't the government of the US take messures to reduce the risk of polution??? Its harmfull for the whole world!
