its my friend! but she denies that telling me i suck at singing and feeling sorry for those who have heard me sing, is discouraging.
and singing has always been my dream since i was little.

No I think people who are too weak to follow their own dreams will actually be more encouraging to you following your dream and gain courage from seeing you try to reach you life time dream. Have you ever thought that your friend may be jealous
of you and does not want you to reach your goal and she doesn't want you to become famous.

are you good at it? if you feel you have a voice then get someone elses opinion.....she might be jealous or just wants whats best for you......may have to consider if shes friend at all too.real friends encourage their friends no matter what they wanna do

sometimes there are people who are afraid to follow their dreams and when they see somebody has the guts to pursue their dreams. that certain person feels envy that why they tends to discourage others to not pursue or telling things that would make you discourage. Well dont mind it if you like what your doing then follow it. Prove to her that you can achieve it even if she discourage you and someday if you succeed you can prove her wrong.

Yes, I do believe that this is sometimes true. People who are jealous of you are likely to try to discourage you because your talent makes them feel small and reminds them of their failures. I can sympathize, but it still isn't fair of them to treat you in such a manner. I hope that your dreams come true one day! ^_^

You should never rely your dreams on your friend or on the opinions of your friends. Nothing and no one can take your dream away from you. If she tells you you are not good then respect her opinion but that does not stop you from fulfilling that dream.

I think if people choose not to follow their dreams, they do get jealous when someone else does and try to discourage them any chance they get. If their friend is successful, it just reminds them that they aren't.

A good friend will always encourage you. I believe nowadays anyone can sing with all these technological advances, all you need to do is believe in yourself and voila! Or she could just be jealous, try by helping her find her dream too.

Maybe she is jealous? Or maybe she is telling the truth and is trying to stop you getting hurt later?

If this is a good friend of yours, maybe they are telling you the truth and joking a little about it. Good friends should be able to feel comfortable enough to be honest on their opinions towards you. However, this person could also be jealous. It should be pretty easy to know which one it is if they have a personality towards one of these sides. (ex. Greedy, Conceited, must be better than everyone, etc.)
Even if your friend doesn't like your singing, it's something you have a passion for. So go for it! Take some time practicing and maybe get some vocal lessons. I believe anyone can do what they are determined to do with the right resources and a little time.

U shouldn't listen to anyone just to yourself and to your desires if she was a true friend she would support u just follow your heart and u'll make that dream come true even if others don't believe u.
