yeah vinegar, because I would not want someone to think I was being prejudice if they didn't hear what I was asking for. It sounds like the N word when you ask for it!!! In no way am I prejudice.

Yes there certainly are times when our accents can 'bring us undone' by using such simple everyday words. :)

You get embarressed asking for a ring doughnut?! That's odd! Back when I used to drink I got embarressed asking a cute barman for "A Slow Comfortable Screw" (it's a cocktail people!) but who wouldn't.

No I do not feel that way ...food is food..if I want a particlar or kind that I would like. I do not see it any more than walking in the bank and asking the banker for money cuz I need it...

Oh this is funny. In many ways asking for things that I want no longer embarrassed me, well hardly ever anyway but in the past when I was a more sensitive soul I just used to ask for a "err you know one of those thingys that are like err you know" and look around hoping I can find it. With the donuts, I would just ask for an iced donut or a donut with pink icing or even a hot donut. :)
