Cancer: tearing families apart?

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer a while back, and it seems like since then our whole family has changed. I understand she is going through a hard time, however, the family seems to baby her and blame me for her sickness. How did I make her sick? I try to be there for my mom but the only thing that I get is pushed away. How do you stick together in a time like this and not play the blame game? This breaks my heart, we should have gotten closer, not further! Any advice, etc? Please share.

I think thats the bitter truth. I have seen families sticking together in such times but most of hte times its the tearing experience.

It is very sad too, I miss my family and wish that everything would just work out. I think the last thing my mom needs is all this conflict and bitterness with everyone. Thanks for the response!

Cancer is so devastating financially, emotionally .... Speaking from someone who had Melanoma Skin Cancer, I pushed people away because I was scared...maybe that is what is going on with your mom

It could be. I just want to enjoy the time I have with her without any of the bad feelings there. Thanks for the response and best wishes.
