How many people have a dog and cat and do they get along?

I have a dog and cat and even now after 3 years they still find every now and then. They tolerate each other i guess but when the cat is in her mood she'll swing her paw at the dog and she thinks their playing. I swear it's like having 2 little kids! Does anyone else go through this too?

I have 3 dogs and 2 cats and they all get along. My jack russell and my kitten play all day long.
