Personal hygene gift?

I was in Wal-Mart today and noticed they have personal hygene gift sets. Some of them aren't bad like razors, but how would you feel if you got a Crest Teeth Whitening set (or other random hygene product) for Christmas? Would you use it, throw it away, re-gift? Would you feel insulted?

pray and be heard - pray and be heard
i would be thankful if someone will give me a gift like that. Though i don't really need that much because we've got a toothpaste here and i can buy a new one if i want but still i'm glad that i won't spend for a toothpaste the next time i shop because somebody already gave me, lol! I'll use it and stock it if ever we still have a toothpaste or I can give it too to the one who I think really needs it. I won't feel being insulted because it's just a gift and everyone who receives a gift must be thankful because atleast the giver remembers you:)

That is definately a good way to look at it. If you don't like what you get, you can always donate it.

I think it would really depend on who the gift came from. I think that if people can't think of anything to buy you they should just buy a gift card.

I don't think that it would b a bad gift except if the person knew they were one of those people who didn't stay clean, then it could be construed as a gift with conotations.

I don't know what I would do with a gift like that as I don't have anyone that insensitive giving me gifts. But this reminded me of the show "What Not to Wear". The make up artist is a spokesperson for a teeth whitener and she is always pushing it on the people on the show. Everytime I see her do it I think of rude it is.

I think that is part of her job though. She wants to make people look better and whiter teeth make people look better.

I personally wouldn't be insulted and would love it. I like that kind of stuff, no matter what it is and most everyone knows that. But I can see how like the teeth whitening set could be insulting...

Then you would be perfect for this type of gift. I just see some of those things as more insulting than others. Like a razor or teeth whitening wouldn't be bad, but like a deodorant gift set could be taken the wrong way.

I wouldn't mind some of the hygene gifts, but I think I would rather a $15 gift card.

It would depend on who it was from and what it was. If it was a Crest Whitening set I may feel a little insulted. But if it's like the razor thing or bath set with soap, lofa etc. Then I would definitely use them. I wouldn't re-gift anything.
