Does anyone know of any good interactive, free to join, not real money online poker sites for my partner to use?

I would have to say that the best place to play free poker is definitely Poker Stars! That is the site I always go to when I've got a craving once in a blue moon to play poker. Pogo also has some free poker games! PurpleTeddyBear.

There is a new website: http://www.e-pokerusa.com This is a new type of poker, Non-Gambling poker, where you play (almost) normal poker but there is no luck of drawing cards involved. This is legal in the US (it's a skill game, since there is no luck involved) and so is drawing a lot of poker players. Since the site just started, they have a lot of freerolls (where you play to win real money, but don't have to pay). This might suit your partner.

King of hearts - A king of hearts card used in poker games.
hi,Well according to me if you want to play poker, the best site is partypoker.com.its just the best one.And i think it offers you to play in both real money and also in play money. Please check it out with the site itself.Due to the new legislation in USA,all cash transaction of gambling sites are illegal,so its better to recheck with each and every poker site, whether they have an option of play money or not. you can try out with poker.com,partypoker.com,pokerstars.com.europoker.net,pokerroom.com and lots of more...

Like others have said there are a ton of poker sites out there. And most of them you can play for free or for money. They are actually cutting down on free sites since that legislation was just passed last month that makes it illegal for the poker websites to make cash transactions with US customers but there are ways to get around that so I dont think online poker is going anywhere. I personally play on full tilt but there are also bodog, poker stars, the poker room, smart ace poker, paradise poker, absolute poker and a ton more. You can actually find poker on regular game sites like yahoo games too.

Just about every poker site allows you sign up for free (no deposit required) and play with "play money." Your partner can also try freerolls--that is tourneys where you don't pay a single cent, but if you do well enough, you can make a little real cash. However, your partner might find that only real money games offer any kind of challenge. In play money games, people tend to play loose and crazy. After all, they don't have anything invested in the game.
