Just wondered if there were any homeschool people here. All three of my girls were homeschooled. The oldest two have their GEDS and are working now. My youngest is working on getting ready for taking the GED.

boy with magnifying glass - the beauty of a curious student, can extend those thoughts to the enth degree and not worry about the confines of a box school
Homeschoolers here!!! we have homeschooled for 9 years now. It has gone pretty good though there were a couple of times we needed the Homeschool legal defense fund people. Just over the phone to the school system. We have scannable tests and workbooks and teacher manuals and grade cards. Will even be a graduation when they finish their 12th grade. I think the military and some colleges look for homeschooled students.

Willow lady, that is great. I'm glad that you have a good school system that even has a graduation. We were once in one where they would get a diploma, but we moved from there in 1996.

I homeschool my two children, 2nd grade and K. My daughter also goes to charter school three times a week for a couple of hours at a time. She takes science and spanish there. Since she goes to a regular school during those times, she gets credited through the school district, which I think is nice too. The rest of her subjects are taught by me using a christian curriculum. My son uses K12 program online and we really love it. He is also registered through the school district but does all his work at home. Thanks for the topic.

I'm a single mom but am home full time so it's not that hard to homeschool my daughter. I'm blessed in many ways including the fact that I'm disabled but can also earn money as a freelance writer. While it's tough sometimes, I would not trade it for the world. I'm a big advocate for homeschooling. You can check out my blog if you'd like: http://homeschool4us.blogspot.com/

Great website. I used to have one called Homeschooling on a Shoestring. Which is not related in anyway to the book out. I started the website in 1996.

I love having a homeschooling website. I just wish that there were real ways to make money off of them. The little extra cash always helps us homeschoolers ;)

I did homeschool my 14 yo ds. However, this year he wanted to go back and join the highschoolers. Homeschooling served him really well. I miss him during the day but he is enjoying himself at school. I wouldn't be surprised if I need to homeschool one of my girls yet but only time will tell.

Well enjoy your time, that is my advice. If the need to homeschool them happens, I'm sure you'll be fine. In the meantime you can use the time to catch up on a hobby, or other things you always wanted to do.
