The Devil wears Prada is an adaptation from the book Lauren Weisbergers that has achieved as the best selling novel under the direction of David Frankel. The story inspired by an actual experience of the writer to her boss Anna Wintour as Vogue editor assistant. Anyone watching a movie that come across a hell of job under an insatiable boss will definitely be nodding his or her heads. With the casting of Meryl Streep (Miranda Priestly), Anne Hathaway (Andrea Sachs), Stanley Tucci (Nigel) and Emily (Emily Blunt), a rated Pg-13 recommended. The Devil wears Meryl Streep never ceased to intimidate and strikingly unforgivable gave an imaginable boss whose tantrums is as poisonous stealth. She has a reputation of dehumanizing scrutiny in the fashion world and intends of what commanded shall be done. In this antagonist character as the sacred boss, still it is inevitable to sympathize to the situation she is in. A boxed persona in her own idealism of what fashion should and demands everyone to act accordingly. She is the all-superb editor of the most acclaimed magazine in New York having her, as a job reference will definitely open you to multiple opportunities. Nevertheless, a bargain as others would think, as a jackpot to be her employer is one wicked job. In order to keep her confidence in you, a desire to deliver as expected best result done immediately. Or else she will exit her employee with an annoying stinger “that’s all”, shuts you up in the wall in a humiliating dismissal. No wonder no one can stand or might as well endure prolonged traumatic depression around her as a trusted assistant. Still the position as an assistant to the editor is the best sought jot any young model or personal assistant. As this, will open doors to many elite fashion empires like Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. These are the pleasures of being involved in high-class fashion Runway magazine not to mention the exquisite collections. Miranda Priestly verily knows her position as the “untouchable” and realizes that no one who works for her is indispensable. Andy Sachs as portrayed by Anne Hathaway is the most likable character as the mouse seeking for cheese in Miranda’s mousetrap. Confident and highly intellectual as a newly graduate from Northwestern Medill School of Journalism, she took the challenge. She took and fill the shoes of the recently fired assistant, little does she know about the fashion. Started out as stressed out to the loads of work she receives of some is irrelevant to her finished degree. She went through the hole of a pin just to please Miranda in her demands. In turn, she became what Miranda thought of herself when she was at her age, an accomplished dreamer. At first, she starts out despising fashion models and often calls them “clackers” quoted to the model having noisy stilettos in the lobby. After a while, she found the fashion designer Stanley Tucci as her confidant and contributed to the overall transformation of Andrea. In time, Andrea Sachs turns into a worthy personal assistant to the fashion icon and gains the trust from Miranda herself. Andrea had committed to her job that soon had affected her relationship with her boyfriend Nate (Adrian Grenier). She had lost her time and presence in their commitments, so as her friends noting the difference from her attitude. In one intimate conversation to Andrea, he reminder her to the type of relationship she is building to her boss compared to their relationship. A heartbreaking moment that soon interrupted by a love triangle. Christian played by Simon Baker, a bad boy writer came to draw interest to Andrea. In the time Andrea and her live-in boyfriend split up, Christian took the opportunity to squeeze in their visit to Paris. After a one-night affair with him, she soon unveiled the hidden agenda against Miranda Priestly and the overthrowing of the Runway magazine. True enough, Miranda had it realized before the actual undertaking in the event. Both are in the same level of understanding about the conspiracy held against their company of that gained respect from Miranda. Nevertheless, all the while, the cunning editor as she thought of Andrea who thinks as if she was her left-brain got disappointed. Andrea will never follow her lead as someone battling over fame to claim territory in the arena of fashion even if it takes stepping on other’s feet. In the end, Andrea decides to get out from the boxed glamour and power that Miranda placed herself. Andrea clung into her personal virtue of self-preservation that comes as the lesson of the story itself. Despite the built-in opportunities and fame that it offers, she came to realize that being human matter most. It is the sense of self wherein Miranda had lost in time in expense for ambition.
