If you only want it because it talks - don't get one. Some of them never talk. The ones that talk the most and say the most words are the African Grey Parrots. I just recently got a Congo, and at 6 months shes already making noises and saying words. But there are no guarantees that one will talk. They are expensive. I paid $1300 for her, not including several hundred dollars in toys so far. Very cool pets - but require so much attention and cost quite a bit.

you can get it from a petshop. it's better if you can have a bigger cage for the bird where it can fly better and spread it's wings. you teach the bird one word at a time. never make it hear another word until it speaks the word you are teaching it. you can start with "hi"... then, don't make it hear any other word except for "hi".. so you won't confuse it. goodluck!

My parrot is a yellow naped Amazon Parrot from Nicaragua. He talks a lot in Spanish. He pretends to carry on conversations and speaks a lot of Spanish. He talks when he wants to, not especially when I want him to. I would advise you not to buy one that doesn't already talk because I bought one before this one that can say "papa" and makes animal sounds, etc. but probably never will talk much. He looks identical to the above mentioned except he doesn't have the yellow nape. People go so far as to dye the feathers yellow on the nape to try to sell them as a talking variety. I don't know where you might find one in your country. Costa Rica has some beautiful red ones, but I don't think they talk.
