why are male social workers looked at as weird

i am a 22 year old male social worker and i love my job but when i tell my friends that they look at me like i have same sort of disease and i am weird any thoughts

well, i think as a male , u should get a job better than social workers, not to be offense that's just what i think. u can always make money first than you can do something more for your community or social interest

hey i think it is great you barely see men in this profession. it is great... we need some men to do some of the dirty work too... just playing. But really if you work with kids... you are an angel

I didn't know male social workers were that unusual. I don't think you should let it bother you. If you love your job you are doing the right thing for sure. There are so many people in the world who hate their job. If its something you are going to be doing everyday you better at least like it.
