what to write about?

"artists create lies to tell the truth.." now where did I hear that? I think it's from a movie. Anyway, I recently applied for a creative writer position in a production company, and I need to pass a sample script for a film. My problem is, getting started. I want to write a script that will interest most people, a movie that will make them think or realize something important. Got any ideas? I will appreciate suggestions. thanks!
