Yes and no. There are benefits of being indifferent and there are consequences. Being indifferent can sometimes distance you from your friends or not let you make more friends easily. But it can be a good thing if you need to defend yourself from abusive people or lessen the hurt from whatever is concerning you or getting to you at the moment. But if you're actually indifferent to everything then that's not a very healthy and happy life to have. It's bad if you're indifferent to everything. That wouldn't do you any good at all.

it depends. if someone is indifferent regarding matters related to family, friends, close ones then it is very annoying and sad thing for the ppl around. parents, close friends can realise and let go but others tend to pass jugdements which can lead to more severe indifference. however, it is, in a way, desirable to be indifferent regarding certain aspects life. may be, regarding personal lives of ur professional colleagues. if someone is INDIFFERENT by nature it's difficult to make him understand and change. well, he can change but to a ceratin degree only. is he is by choice, then there is a lot of hope. we can counsel, socialise and talk out with him and can bring about his change.
